Jean-Paul Philippot, general manager of RTBF, and Kurt Pauwels and Yann Guyonic,the respective general manager and VP of the new Belgian DTH platform TéléSat, have signed an agreement to carry all TV and radio channels from the French language Belgian public broadcaster.
The contract secures satellite carriage for the French-language TV channels La Une and La Deux, as well as the radiostations La Première, VivaCité, Musiq3, Classic 21 and Pure FM, as part of the new satellite platform. The international RTBF channel, RTBF Sat, is already available free-to-air on Astra.
TéléSAT expects to add further contracts with other broadcasters in the next few weeks. The platform is a sister company of TV Vlaanderen, the Dutch language DTH platform for Belgium that now claims 60,000 subscribers.
