The Polish incumbent telco TPSA is reported to have lodged an application with the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for a licence to operate a DTH platform.
It was announced earlier this month that France Telecom-backed TPSA plans to launch what will be Poland’s fourth DTH platform in Q3 this year. The service is likely to use the Orange brand name, as will a new satellite delivered channel that TPSA also plans to launch.
The DTH platform will complement TPSA’s IPTV service videostrada, which can be received in over 70 cities.
