Portugal Telecom is continuing to explore the possibility of a tie up with Media Capital to launch a joint bid for one of the country’s DTT multiplex licences.
According to Jornal de Negocios the two companies are continuing to pursue separate licence bids, though a group of directors has been trying to reignite the talks, the significance of which has been played down by BT CEO Zeinal Bava.
Applications for the DTT licences have to be registered by April 22. The two regulators, ICP and Anacom, will then have 40 days to announce the selected free-to-air channels and 60 days for the pay-TV channels.
