The French media authority CSA has published a preliminary timetable for the country’s analogue switch off. In Q1 2009, analogue broadcasts will be switched of in “a small village” as a pilot. In the second quarter, two regions will follow.
This will be followed by the switch off of 10 more regions in 2010, the year when the Canal+ analogue transmitters will also be taken off the air.
Finally, in 2011, the remaining 12 regions will see their analogue broadcasts switched off. By the year’s end, there will be no more analogue transmitters in the country.
