ContentWise generates recommendations for media content tailored to individuals’ preferences based on user ratings and content metadata. Neptuny will launch its new predictive content recommendation system for IPTV operators at IBC this year. As IPTV providers are trying to differentiate their service by offering content on demand, navigation is becomming even more important to them.
Neptuny’s software will collect information from users’ previous views and recommends items based on ratings from other users who have similar tastes, and from the content’s associated metadata. Recommendations are not limited to on-demand content, but may also include lineair tv channels, and of course targeted advertising.
ContentWise can either be installed on the operators’ server or Neptuny can provide them with a server appliance with the system pre-installed or Neptuny can provide it as a managed service.
