China Network Systems (CNS) and Taiwan Television Enterprise (TTV) have chosen Qualcomm’s MediaFlo system to conduct a technical trial in Taipei, Taiwan. The trial is scheduled to begin this month and will feature four live channels of CNS content and three live channels of TTV content. The trial will allow CNS and TTV to evaluate the performance capabilities of MediaFLO.
“Mobile is a dynamic new platform for television content, and we are keen to offer our customers the widest variety of choices to access TTV content,” said York Chiou, vice president of business development at TTV.
In the United States Verizon’s eight-channel MediaFlo-based offer went live last week, offering shows from CBS, Comedy Central, ESPN, Fox, MTV, NBC News, NBC Entertainment and Nickelodeon, costing at a monthly subscription price of US$15.
