Nat Geo Wild has been issued with a licence from Ofcom for its new Nat Geo Wild channel. The new channel will launch on March 1 and will be available in around 12 million households in Europe, Israel and South Africa, replacing Adventure 1. Nat Geo Wild is perceived as Nat Geo’s answer to Discovery Channel’s Animal Planet.
Also receiving a TLCS licence from the UK regulator is ShortsTV. The brand is most familiar from the mobile environment, but the channel has recently secured capacity on the Numericable Network in France.
New licences have also been issued to Turner Broadcasting’s TCM Clasico; UK Property TV, Mana Telugu, Channel Chola, The Shopping Channel, One Plymouth TV, Apnah Vision, Fashion One, Sky Movies and Toon TV. (JC)
