The leading Estonian telco Elion has launched the first HDTV service in the Baltic Republics. A themed package initially consisting of the culture and entertainment channel Voom, it is being made available to digital cable subscribers in Tartu, Pärnu and the capital, Tallinn. Elion’s IPTV customers, on the other hand, will be offered the HDTV package from the second half of 2007. Elion is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eesti Telekom and currently has around 25,000 digital TV subscribers. (CD)
