The French VOD platform SFR Play has added the new channel Altice Studio to its offer.
According to Le Figaro, Altice Studio was announced by Alain Weill, the DG of SFR’s media and entertainment activities, on July 11. It distributes productions made by the studio of the same name, launched last year and with a budget of €160 million.
The new channel also offers viewers content from Discovery and NBC Universal, with which the group holds distribution agreements for France.
SFR plans to enter into new alliances with leading European telcos such as Deutsche Telekom and Telefónica, with which it has a shared strategy.
It has already partnered with Sky, with which it produces a series named Riviera.
