The TV ad sales house Atmedia has decided to leave the Polish market, citing the loss of clients. At the same time, one of its competitors – TVN Media – has announced a new agreement with the broadcaster Telewizja Puls.
Quoting Marcin Boroszko, the president of Atmedia, Wirtualne Media reports that no date for the company’s closure has yet been decided.
It has been present in Poland since 1998 and until recently had a large portfolio of thematic channel clients.
However, having lost Sony Pictures Television Networks, The Walt Disney Company, Universal Networks International and ZPR Media at the end of last year, it has in the last few months also stopped providing services to Stars.tv, TVS and Travel Channel.
This has come alongside recent reports that Atmedia may soon also have a new owner, with Gazprom-Media referred to as a possible buyer.
Separately, TV Media has signed an agreement with Telewizja Puls, the operator of the channels TV Puls and Puls 2. Starting on January 1 and valid for a year, it will see TV Media, operating under the Premium TV brand, provide commercial representation for Telewizja Puls in advertising.
It will also serve as an exclusive agency for the channels for sponsorship.
