Despite its many problems, publicly owned TVP remains by far the most popular broadcaster in Poland.
Data produced by TNS OBOP shows that its first channel TVP1 claimed an audience share of 23.33% in 2008 among viewers aged 4+.
Its second channel TVP2 was in second place with 16.72%, followed by Polsat (15.60%) and TVN (14.98%), while the three most watched thematic channels, after TVN24 with 3.06%, were Disney Channel (0.79%), Mini Mini (0.78%) and AXN (0.77%).
TVP1 was also in top place in the lucrative 16-49 age group (19.88%), followed by Polsat (18.23%), TVN (16.73%) and TVP2 (15.60%), with the most popular thematic channels being TVN24 (1.67%), Viva Polska (1.11%), AXN (1.07%) and Discovery (0.83%).
