Arqiva has completed the £25 million acquisition of BT’s satellite broadcast services business. The transaction, which creates one of the world’s largest satellite and media solutions businesses, includes long term customer contracts, operations and personnel in the United States, France, Italy and the Netherlands. Also included are teleports in the UK, Paris, Washington and Los Angeles.
Nick Thompson, managing director of Arqiva’s Satellite Media Solutions division, described the deal as a significant step for the company. “The acquisition combines two organisations recognised as market leaders and creates one of the largest global satellite and media solutions businesses. Our short term focus is to ensure that the integration process goes smoothly and that we ensure our customers are well informed of progress”.
Part of the deal places Arqiva as the preferred supplier of satellite services BT’s media solutions business.
Arqiva has its headquarters in Hampshire, at the IBA’s former premises in Winchester with other major UK offices in London, Buckinghamshire and Yorkshire.
