Zdenek Vanicek co-founded the Czech Association of Electronic Communications (CAEC) in 1998 (then Czech Association of Cable Communications).
On January 14, 1999 he was elected its first President and has subsequently maintained the position. He permanently represents CAEC in Brussels (the European Commission, the European Competitive Telecommunications Association and the European Cable Communications Association – Cable Europe); lectures on electronic communications (Czech and European) at the Czech Technical University in Prague; writes about issues of copyright, Czech electronic communications law as well as related laws, European electronic communications etc. for the Czech and international press.
He was a member of a group of experts, which assisted in the process of preparing amendments to the media and telecommunications acts, as well as the Electronic Communications Bill.
