Vectra opts for PROEXE and Ateme

November 8, 2023 12.25 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Poland’s leading cable operator Vectra has changed its video processing and delivery provider and is now working with PROEXE and Ateme. The BlueOnline CDN solution that Vectra is using was developed by PROEXE, part of the Vectra Group. Meanwhile, the video origin and packaging solution was designed by Ateme based on the Ateme NEA product. Thanks to this, the operator can now offer its customers Android TV services at an even higher level.

Commenting on the development, Bartlomiej Irzynski, IT and technology director, member of the management board at Vectra, said: “The enhanced video processing and delivery platform, developed in partnership with PROEXE and Ateme, is a milestone for Vectra, strengthening our position as an innovation leader in the delivery of audiovisual content to cable television customers. This solution not only increases the quality of the services we offer, but also opens the door to new opportunities, making it easier for us to scale our business and adapt to the growing needs of our subscribers. For Vectra, it is also an opportunity for closer cooperation and greater influence on the further development of the CDN network that we and our customers use. PROEXE’s Ateme NEA and CDN BlueOnline solutions have delivered extraordinary results. The entire system is very stable, and its maturity allowed for rapid testing, implementation, integration and installation. As a result, we managed to introduce the product very quickly – the project started in August, and on September 21 we were ready for its final launch”.

Tomasz Paldyna, sales director for Central and Eastern Europe at Ateme, added: “When launching or replacing an OTT service, two issues are most important: how stable the system will be and how long the launch will take.

“We are pleased that, together with PROEXE, we can ensure stable video delivery for Vectra’s Smart GO TV service, providing viewers across Poland with a great viewing experience – we are also proud that we implemented this new solution so quickly”.

The combined solution of CDN PROEXE and Ateme NEA is also used by individual customers and telecommunications operators who decided to implement the TV Smart service, both independently and in cooperation with the IPTV service provider – EVIO SGT.

Maciej Bakalarz, CEO & founder at PROEXE, said: “We are very happy that we managed to deliver and launch, together with Vectra and Ateme, a modern, flexible and functional solution. This is a great success for us, especially considering the very short time in which this implementation had to be carried out and the virtually impossibility of making any mistakes. It is also very important that the cost of traffic handling is at a very competitive level. The implemented solution is installed in five independent nodes and allows for traffic exceeding 1 TB/s. PROEXE also provided the BlueOnline Selector CDN solution in the cloud native version, which enables the integration and configuration of intelligent traffic control rules to external CDN systems, e.g. in the event of temporarily high traffic demand. By the end of the year, taking into account the development of demand for video streaming, we expect performance to increase even several times. The solution is addressed to all interested entities, telecommunications operators and content providers as a modern alternative to solutions existing on the market”.
