François Xavier Pierrel has been appointed chief data & as tech officer at France’s TF1 Group, effective October 16.
He takes charge of the new Data Ad tech division and reports to François Pellissier, DGA business and sport at FT1 Group.
According to TF1, the arrival of Pierrel and the creation of this division are part of our digital acceleration strategy and the Group’s desire to strengthen its expertise in data, CRM, analytics and AdTech.
An expert in data for transformation, Pierrel’s mission is to define the data strategy best suited to the Group’s ambitions and to implement the technological stack in line with the needs of advertisers and the development of MYTF1.
Commenting on the appointment, Pellissier said: “I am very happy to welcome François-Xavier to the Business Department of the TF1 Group and wish him every success in his new role. François-Xavier is a great professional and has developed very strong expertise throughout his career, recognized in the market; so many assets to manage all data-related activities and support us in the Group’s digital strategy. He will work in close collaboration with Sylvia Tassan Toffola, MD of TF1 PUB and Claire Basini, MD in charge of the TF1 Group’s BtoC activities”.
Pierrel was most recently chief data officer of the JCDecaux group. Prior to this, he supported the Renault Group’s acceleration in the use of customer data, led the Southern Europe science marketing team at Meta and was in charge of Microsoft’s AdTech activities for France, Belgium and Switzerland.
Before that he spent 10 years in telecoms developing Asian and American companies.
