German broadcaster Super RTL will not be completely renamed RTL Super after all.
The new name will only be used during primetime, while the channel will continue to carry the umbrella brand Super RTL, a spokeswoman told German industry publication Meedia.
“From Tuesday, the Super RTL primetime slot (from 20:15 CEST) will be called RTL Super. The new logo will also be visible in social media and on the website. Super RTL will remain as the channel name and continue to bracket daytime and primetime. In terms of programming, we are continuing the channel’s very successful strategy in primetime,” the spokesperson explained.
German media magazine DWDL had previously reported that Super RTL would adopt the channel name RTL Super in the course of the unification of the RTL brand architecture.
Super RTL targets children during the day with the programme strand Toggo, while the rest of the family is addressed with movies and entertainment in the evening.
