RTL Croatia, which is now owned by Central European Media Enterprises (CME), plans to make important changes to its streaming services this September.
Speaking exclusively to Broadband TV News, Stella Litou, CEO CME Adria, said they will see the SVOD service Play Premium rebranded as Voyo. At the same time, the AVOD service Play will become RTL.hr.
Litou is also responsible for CME’s operations in Slovenia, where Voyo has been the market leader for 5-6 years and works in a combined way with linear to drive numbers. Indeed, Voyo is “local relevant and exclusive”.
While Slovenia is a mature market, Croatia has a big opportunity to grow and will develop over the next few years.
Litou also pointed out that Croatian content travels very well.
CME has made far-reaching changes to RTL Croatia’s scheduling since acquiring the broadcaster from RTL Group in June last year.
Its viewing figures have improved and according to Litou it is now running neck and neck with its main competitor Nova.
Its content will include local fiction from this September.
