Netflix has announced that its engineering centre in Poland is now operational.
Based in Warsaw, it works on global solutions and is responsible for creating tools used by internal Netflix teams and external creative partners throughout the production process of such hits as Stranger Things, Wednesday and Glass Onion.
The engineering centre is headed by Lukasz Romaniuk, a manager with over 15 years of experience in creating and developing engineering teams. Prior to joining Netflix, he worked at Amazon Web Services, and before that he spent 10 years expanding the structures of the GE Aviation engineering centre in Poland.
According to Romaniuk, “building and developing an engineering team working on solutions that enable people around the world to experience the highest level of entertainment is an exciting challenge. IT staff in Poland have a reputation not only for being well-educated, but also capable of ground-breaking innovations – and this is the kind of team we intend to build at Netflix’s Warsaw office”.
Netflix plans to further develop the engineering team in its Warsaw centre, and current job offers can be found on the Netflix Jobs website.
The construction of an engineering centre in Warsaw was announced in January this year. It represents another Netflix investment in Poland, after opening a regional office in 2022 responsible for the company’s presence in several Central and Eastern European markets.
At the same time, Netflix has produced nearly 40 original Polish productions so far, including such hits as the award-winning series Wielka Woda and the movie How I Loved a Gangster.
For this year, Netflix has already announced the premieres of 12 more original productions from Poland.
