Telekom Srbija’s CEO Vladimir Lucic has said its representatives have the right to meet with members of the European Parliament to discuss a report on Serbia if it mentions the company.
According to Danas, he was responding to a question about how much the telco has spent in lobbying in an attempt to avoid being mentioned in the European Parliament’s report.
Lucic went on the say that United Group had been running a campaign against Telekom Srbija for the past month, putting pressure on members of the European Parliament though its media.
Earlier, it was reported that the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Serbia had requested that all criticisms of Telekom Srbija be removed from amendments to his report on Serbia.
His request was apparently refused and the report will refer to the telco as “an instrument of the ruling party to influence the media market in Serbia”.
