Virgin Media O2 has apologised to customers after a breakfast time outage on its broadband services.
Around 14,000 customers were recorded by Downdetector as having problems at 02.00 on Tuesday morning, before the network settled down at 04.00, only for the problems to re-emerge two hours later. By 08.00, some 28,500 customers were struggling for Broadband access.
As Virgin engineers worked to restore service, some websites could be accessed, while others remained blank.
Virgin’s own website was hit by the issue including its service status page.
