MultiChoice has announced plans for a new technology division under a new group chief technology officer.
The new technology area will encompass the Broadcast Technology Division, Enterprise Business Systems, Group digital, DStv Streaming technology and Project Management Office.
“We are repositioning our technology area to lead our next growth phase and to deliver on our vision of becoming the technology platform of choice for African households. We have consolidated everything related to technology, engineering, and technical divisions into a technology hub,” said MultiChoice Group CEO, Calvo Mawela.
Nyiko Shiburi has been appointed as group chief technology officer. Shiburi will lead all the technology divisions across the MultiChoice Group. He was previously head of MuitChoice South Africa and will be replaced in the role by Marc Jury, the current CEO of SuperSport.
Last September it was announced that MultiChoice will launch the Sky’s Glass TV product and experience following an agreement with the Comcast company.
