waipu.tv and NBC Universal expand cooperation

March 16, 2023 10.54 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German TV streaming provider waipu.tv will continue to distribute NBC Universal’s pay-TV channels on its platform.

Parent company Exaring AG extended the distribution agreement with NBC Universal Global Networks Germany by several years. The contract includes 13th Street, Universal TV and SYFY and, besides the linear channels, also covers catch-up rights and interactive features, such as instant restart, pause and record functions.

“NBC Universal is a very important pay-TV partner for us. The successful entertainment channels 13th Street, SYFY and Universal TV offer our customers numerous well-known series and movie highlights as well as exclusive originals enriching our channel portfolio. With the addition of catch-up, the content will be even more flexibly adapted to viewers’ personal usage preferences from 2024,” said Markus Härtenstein, executive board member, Exaring AG.
