RCD&RDS (Digi) remains the leading provider of pay-TV services in Romania.
According to its parent company Digi Communications, it ended 2022 with 5,432,000 cable and satellite RGUs, or 5.9% more than a year earlier. Digi Communications as a whole had a total of 20,782,000 RGUs in Romania, Spain and Italy, up 15.4% on 12 months earlier, though its TV operations were limited to Romania. Digi’s revenues in 2022 amounted to €1.5 billion (+18.3% year-on-year) and adjusted EBITDA €506 million (+7.4% year-on-year).
Commenting on Digi’s 2022 results, CEO Serghei Bulgac said: “Looking back at the group’s activity during 2022, one can say that it was a defining stage in our recent development, a year in which we’ve consolidated our position, not only in Romania, but also in Europe. For the second year consecutively, we managed to expand our activities in different countries, as well as to acquire additional spectrum in Romania.
“We are grateful for our customers’ trust and the support of our partners and we will continue to invest in our state-of-the-art networks to ensure that an increasing number of consumers can have access to high performance and affordable services. Aside from operations in Romania, Spain and Italy, Digi also has a presence in Portugal and Belgium.
