Eutelsat’s broadcast revenues for the six months to December 2022 amounted to €338.5 million, or 3.4% less than the reported figure in the same period in 2021.
However, its total revenues were, at €573.8 million, 0.3% higher. On a like-for-like basis, its broadcast and total revenues were 6.7% and 6.1% down on a year earlier.
In its results, Eutelsat says that its broadcast figures reflect the temporary headwind of the partial renewal of capacity with Nilesat at 7/8 degrees West and the negative impact of the anticipated non- renewal of a capacity contract with Digitürk from mid-November, as well as lower revenues in Europe, related to volume decrease with certain resellers.
It adds that the full-year trend will see a slight deterioration compared to the half year due to sanctions against certain Russian and Iranian channels.
These were imposed by the operator at the start of this calendar year.
