Megogo enters Polish market

February 7, 2023 11.52 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The online video and TV services provider Megogo has established a presence in the Polish market, opening an office in Warsaw and significantly expanding its catalogue of Polish content.

According to the company, the service it offers in the country primarily includes pay-TV packages with a wide range of news, sports, entertainment, kids and educational channels with the interactive feature, as well as a library of movies and series. Start, Optimal, Maximal and TV & Movies UA subscriptions are also available in Poland.

The company’s office in Warsaw is headed by Artur Pacula, CEO Megogo Poland. He has previously worked for The Walt Disney Company, Sony Music Poland and Solopan.

Commenting on the launch, he said: “We have been carefully preparing the launch of the media service over the past months. The TV subscription packages will cover all the leading channels on the Polish market, such as TVN, Polsat, TV Puls, TV4, Stopklatka TV and Zoom TV. The catalogue of movies in a diverse price range has been assembled thanks to fruitful cooperation with partners from the Polish and international markets”.

Volodymyr Borovyk, CEO and a founder of Megogo, added: “Megogo was founded in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, in 2011. During the war our company, as a responsible business and employer, has to support the country’s economy and take care of our employees. So we seek ways and means for evolution.

“Fortunately, we have formed a powerful team over the past 11 years. The quality of Megogo products and unique competencies of our specialists allow us to continue working at a high level despite all challenges of the time, as well as to develop even on international markets.

“Since the beginning of the full-scale Russia’s invasion, millions of Ukrainians have had to leave their homes and seek refuge in Poland. The interest in our service is so high here that it was only a matter of time before we opened an office”.

Megogo is operates one of the leading OTT platforms in Ukraine and has a presence in 14 countries, namely Ukraine, Poland, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Estonia, Turkmenistan, Georgia, and Tajikistan.

The service cooperates with Fox, BBC, Walt Disney, Monolith, Gutek Film and other studios and part of its catalogue is available worldwide.
