The Spanish telco Avatel is in talks with CVC, Apollo, Wren House and Asterion to secure funds for the acquisition of Lyntia Access.
Cinco Dias reports that it hopes they will contribute part of the €1 billion that will be required to buy the FTTH company, which is owned by France’s Antin.
It adds that during the summer Avatel reached an agreement with the French fund to acquire Lyntia Access, which has a network with 260,000 fibre optic accesses to homes and another 360,000 in deployment.
For the development of these new accesses, the firm had an alliance with Avatel, according to which the Andalusian firm was in charge of the clients and Lyntia of the operation.
Should Avatel manage to buy Lyntia, it will take a big step towards becoming the fifth largest telco in Spain.
Under the terms of the agreement signed in the summer, which expires in the coming weeks, Avatel reaches four million homes with its fibre network.
