The pay-TV sector in Moldovan was worth MDL72 million (€3.77 million) in the second quarter, or 23.5% more than in the same period last year.
While its growth was more pronounced than that of other sectors in the country’s electronic communications sector, according to the regulator ANRCETI they were worth considerably more.
Fixed internet, for instance, increased by 3.6% in the year to MDL371.3 million, and mobile internet by 4.1% to MDL327.3 million.
Other sectors grew by 11% to reach MDL207.9 million. However, landline and mobile services both fell, by 18.2% and 0.9% to MDL69.4 million and 0.9% to MDL713.1 million respectively.
ARPU for TV services fell by 38.3% to MDL32.8.
The market as a whole in Q2 was worth MDL1.4938 billion, or 0.3% more than in the same period last year.
