A Lithuanian court has rejected a complaint by the Russian state broadcaster VGRTK over the suspension of the distribution of its channels Planeta RTR and Rossiya 24 in Lithuania.
In a statement, the Lithuanian regular LRTK says that on February 25 it decided to temporarily suspend the rebroadcasting of the Russian language propaganda channels Planeta RTR, Rossiya 24, NTV Mir, Belarus 24, PBK and TVCi “following the detection of gross violations of international and national legislation, dissemination of information threatening national security, incitement of war and national hatred, and dissemination of biased disinformation”.
VGRTK then appealed to the court about the suspension of Planeta RTR and Rossiya 24. However, “after assessing all the factual circumstances, the court decided to reject the complaint as unfounded and upheld the decision of the LRTK”.
