Paramount+ put on another 4.9 million subscribers in the second quarter, despite the removal of 1.2 million subscribers in Russia.
There are now over 43 million Paramount+ subscribers, while Paramount Global has nearly 64 million direct-to-consumer subscribers. Here 3.9 million Russian subs were removed.
The Paramount+ streaming service captured the most sign-ups, gross and net subscriber additions of any premium domestic streaming service in the United States in the quarter according to Antenna’s June 2022 Report.
The company says both domestic and international hours watched per household demonstrated strong growth year-over-year as its diet of reboots and extensive library proved resonated with customers.
Popular content has included Halo, 1883, The Lost City, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Jackass Forever, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
There were new international launches in the UK, Ireland and South Korea.
Meanwhile, FAST platform Pluto TV grew its monthly active users to almost 70 million. Total global viewing hours grew by double digits year-over-year for the second consecutive quarter.
