Digital 9 Infrastructure has agreed to buy a 48.02% stake in transmission company Aqriva, which operates the Freeview platform.
The London-listed investment trust, which specialises in digital infrastructure, will pay £459.3 million for the holding.
“Arqiva expands the company’s exposure to wireless networks and will support the company’s total return and yield targets as we continue to build a high-quality portfolio of scalable platforms and technologies,” Chair Phil Jordan said.
Digital 9, which raised £300 million with an IPO in March 2021 will now launch a new placing at 110p per share.
In addition to the Arqiva acquisition, the funds will also cover investment in its subsea fibre, Nordic data centre and edge data centre platforms.
