RTL Play gets new apps from Alteox

May 3, 2022 12.19 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The digital media and ICT consulting company Alteox has developed several new applications for RTL Luxembourg’s streaming service RTL Play, expanding its distribution to new OTT platforms globally.

RTL Play offers all RTL TV shows, reports, and original podcasts. It includes a range of series, including kids shows, entertainment, documentaries and the daily news, with new content being added all the time in Luxembourgish, as well as French and English.

The new applications will be available on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV devices as well as on Samsung Tizen and LG smart TVs.

The applications support dynamic ad insertion, with the integration was developed in partnership with IP Luxembourg.

The applications will playback to the viewer the most appropriate ads based on the device and user’s interface language and behaviour.

Commenting on the new apps, Sven Breckler, CEO at Alteox, said: “RTL Luxembourg and Alteox have been long enjoying successful collaboration, so the latest project only cements this partnership. We are pleased to support them in reaching new platforms and achieving a truly global presence”.

Sandra Bintz, head of digital products & deputy content director, added: “The collaboration between Alteox and RTL Luxembourg is a great opportunity to offer our multilingual content to an even wider audience”.
