Telekom Srbija seeking €500m

April 14, 2022 09.41 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Telekom Srbija aims to raise up to €500 million this year by issuing corporate bonds on a European stock exchange.

Quoting the company’s CEO Vladimir Lucic, Danas adds that the money will be used to further develop the telco’s infrastructure and mobile network, as well as to fund its international expansion. The latter will see Telekom Srbija start to offer mobile telephony services in Northern Macedonia, Switzerland and Germany, followed by the US and Canada.

However, Danas also says that experts believe the funds could be used to pay for the broadcast rights to the Premier League. The telco secured these for €600 million for the next six seasons.

Lucic also said that Telekom Srbija’s reveneus in Serbia increased by 17% last year and by 9% at the group level to reach RSD150 billion (€1.27 billion). Its profit amounted to RSD13 billion.
