O2 introduces Samsung TV app

April 4, 2022 10.06 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Czech incumbent O2 has unveiled a completely new O2 TV application for Samsung TVs.

According to the company, it is intended for all customers who have sets produced from 2017 onwards. Commenting on the new app, Dana Tomaskova, director of O2 TV and digital services, said: “In total, this innovation affects more than 100,000 active devices that had an older version of the application installed. The advantage is that in this case our customers do not have to deal with anything, download anything – the change will take place automatically in the background as soon as the application is available”.

She added: “With the update, viewers will get improved and new features. They can look forward not only to a more modern look, but also to clearer menu management, an improved and faster TV program, or EPG, in which it will now be much easier to navigate and move. Full news for customers using this application will then have quick access to the Premium section requested by the customers themselves, where they will find a comprehensive National Geographic + library with premium documents, HBO OD, O2 TV Plus or mall.tv or access to YouTube, depending on the relevant tariff. O2 TV”.

The original application was available for Samsung TVs from November 2019. “It was the first smart TV application we offered to O2 TV customers. Their interest was huge at the time. That’s why other brands followed their own applications. Now we believe that all our Samsung TV customers will be pleased with this improvement in their O2 TV experience”.

The application will be updated gradually for Samsung TV owners over the next few days. In the first phase, it will be available for models manufactured in 2019, 2020 and 2021, with older devices following afterwards.
