Just when you think every last remaining analogue package has been uncovered, up pops another, with Dutch cablenet Kabelnoord reducing its availability to just 12 channels.
The capacity will then be used for the launch of new HD channels.
Commencing March 1, 2022, the following channels will only be available in HD; National Geographic Channel; FOX; A; Canvas channels; BBC One; BBC Two; Arte; Stingray Classica; Ziggo Sport Select; Ziggo Sport Football; Ziggo Sport Golf; Ziggo Sport Racing; Investigation Discovery; RTL Lounge; RTL Telekids; RTL Crime; 24 Kitchen; Spike (to be replaced by Paramount Network).
Niek Geelhoed, Director of Kabelnoord said: “Nearly all customers now watch digital television. An ever-smaller group still watches analogue television. Other providers have now completely stopped analogue TV. We will not be doing this for the time being.”
The network is also preparing for the launch of 4K services.
