Iliad to “revolutionise” Italian FTTH market

January 26, 2022 10.40 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Iliad has announced a new offer that it believes will “revolutionise” the fibre market in Italy.

It follows on from the company “revolutionising” the mobile market, having secured 8.5 million users in three years.

The offer sees fibre become five times faster, with download and upload speeds of up to 5Gbps and 700 Mbps respectively. It comes alongside the new iliadbox, a router with both hardware and software developed in-house. The new offer costs €15.99 a month for Iliad mobile users with automatic payment, or €23.99 a month otherwise. The price is guaranteed “forever”, with no hidden costs and no duration restrictions.

Commenting on the launch, Benedetto Levi, CEO of Iliad, said: “For months we have received many requests from our mobile users to launch a fibre offer, because they are tired of the lack of transparency in this market. I am really happy to bring the same transparency and quality to the fibre today that have always distinguished our mobile offers. An ultra-fast fibre connection at an affordable price can simplify the lives of millions of people and give that push towards digitisation that the country so badly needs”.

The offer is available to 7.4 million real estate units in Italy, on the iliad.it website and on 1,500 Simboxes throughout Italy.
