Olivier Bibas is to return to Canal+ as director of original content creation. He’ll be responsible for Canal+’s French drama and international co-productions, reporting to Gérald-Brice Viret, General Manager of the Canal+ Group’s French TV channels and programmes.
Gérald-Brice Viret said: “I am delighted that Olivier Bibas has joined the Canal+ Group. His vision, his recognised expertise and his talent will be invaluable in producing new large-scale series capable of reaching the world.”
Fabrice de la Patellière, who has held the position of Director of Fiction at Canal since 2002, will now move into production and join Studio Canal, under the direction of Anna Marsh, to develop French and international series for television and platforms.
Olivier Bibas began his career Canal on 1995, before joining the Lagardère Group in 2004. Since 2011, he has been Executive Producer and Managing Director of Atlantique Productions, which became a subsidiary of Mediawan in 2020. He has overseen the development and production of numerous international TV series sold in many territories, including The Eddy, Polar Day, Hierro, Eden, Borgia and The Transporter.
He has just completed shooting the series Django for CANAL+ and Sky Studios.
