Telecom Italia (TIM) is undertaking an innovative cabling project in Bastia Umbra through its infrastructure operator FiberCop to bring Giga services to the city.
Costing €1.5 million, it has already started in many locations and will involve 5,400 real estate units.
Thanks to the project, Bastia Umbra will be equipped with an even better fibre network than the one already available, which employs FTTCab technology to offer internet download speeds of up to 200 Mbps.
Bastia Umbra is part of an ambitious plan by TIM to create an entire fibre network throughout the whole of Italy.
Broadband TV News notes that last month FiberCop signed a new loan facility agreement for €1.5 billion.
The transaction will allow it to further strengthen its capital structure.
