AVOD service Watch4 will stream three ATP 250 tennis tournaments live in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
As part of a licensing agreement with IMG, Watch4 will screen 21 Tennis Australia tournaments live taking place in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney from January 15, 2022.
The matches, which are a precursor to the Australian Open, feature tennis pros such as Rafael Nadal, Alex de Minaur and Alexander Zverev. The games will be available on demand after the live transmission.
The ATP 250 tournaments are being made available for free to Watch4 viewers and are part of the platform’s sports sections, which include other sports content and weekly sports highlights.
“We believe that sports content is a vital part of our overall entertainment offering for viewers in our markets,” said Philipp Rotermund, CEO of Watch4 operator Video Solutions AG. “Our agreement with IMG is indicative of the types of licensing deals we intend to execute more and more this year.”
