Peacock is to become the “streaming home” of the Winter Olympics in the United States after parent NBCUniversal announced its coverage would be available on the service’s premium tier.
The coverage will also include those events that will also be shown on broadcast and cable television. In all 15 sports will be shown alongside the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, NBC’s nightly primetime show, event replays and highlights.
“We are excited to offer NBC Olympics’ storytelling and complete streaming coverage of the 2022 Olympic Winter Games on Peacock,” said Molly Solomon, Executive Producer, NBC Olympics & Paralympics. “This approach provides the American audience with a dynamic, easy-to-use Olympic viewing hub where not a single moment, live or on-demand, will be missed.”
In Europe, Discovery’s Eurosport will have full coverage of the Games.
The Opening Ceremonyof the XXIV Olympic Winter Games from Beijing, China takes place on Friday 4 February, though the competition itself gets underway two days earlier.
