Alternative Union establishes TVN branch

The grassroots initiative Alternative Union has established a branch at Discovery owned TVN, one of Poland’s three leading broadcasters.

In a statement, it says: “Today, the management board of TVN has been informed that Union Alternative has been established in the company. Tomasz Ozimkiewicz became the chairman of the Trade Union of TVN Employees. The union will fight for decent wages, stable work, it will oppose bullying and negotiate key solutions for employees. In the coming days, our trade unionists will want to talk to the company’s management about key issues, learn about its plans and present their recommendations. We count on a fruitful, partner-like dialogue with the employer”.

Alternative Union was established in June 2019 and since then has been active in all industry sectors and all over the country. According to local reports, it also plans to set up branches at publicly owned TVP and the national commercial broadcaster Polsat.
