Roku is to effectively ban channels produced by Pornhub and other porn services from March 1, 2022.
In a story first reported by Protocol, the streamer is to remove so-called “non-certified” private channels on that day in favour of beta channels that are limited to 20 users.
The change comes alongside the introduction of a new IDK at its online summit last month.
The system had been used by channels to get around the need to have Roku officially license their channels.
Previously, Roku has been accused of ignoring such channels, but following a debate around the controversial political channel InfoWars, finally issued warnings that illegal private channels may be removed.
