The Russian cable operator ER Telecom has acquired 100% of the united group of companies Avantel for an undisclosed fee.
The transaction will allow ER Telecom to significantly strengthen its position in the Moscow, Siberian and Far East markets.
Commenting on the development, Andrey Kuzyaev, president of JSC ER Telecom Holding, said: “Avantel is one of the largest alternative operators in Russia with strong market positions in Moscow and Siberia. The deal is of strategic importance to us. It contributes to the consolidation of the market, allows us to strengthen our positions in the capital, the Volga region, Siberia and the Far East, as well as expand into new regions, including the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. We intend to preserve the best practices and experience accumulated by both companies, offering our existing and potential customers a qualitatively new level of service and innovative services. The Avantel integration process will be gradual and seamless. No inconveniences and restrictions for current and future subscribers are expected”.
