SPI/FilmBox has expanded its distribution agreement with Samsung Electronics’ free streaming service, Samsung TV Plus to include its new ad-supported digital channel Docustream in India.
As a result, Docustream’s documentaries are now available to Samsung TV Plus users in India via Samsung branded smart TVs and select Samsung mobile devices.
Commenting on the development, Georgina Twiss, MD Western Europe and Africa at SPI International, said: “Following the success of Filmstream with Samsung TV Plus in India, we are excited to introduce another product with expertly curated content to the market.
“Docustream’s exceptional curation of documentary features will appeal to viewers of all ages and demographics that enjoy consuming insightful and entertaining content”.
Earlier this year, SPI launched its ad-supported digital movie channel Filmstream with Samsung TV Plus in India, which can be watched via Samsung Smart TVs and Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
