Russian gained an additional 160,000 pay-TV subscribers in the second quarter.
According to the latest study published by Telecom Daily, this brought the total to 45.104 million.
Although the number of additions in Q2 was almost twice that in the previous quarter, pay-TV penetration remained at 81%.
Furthermore, ARPU was R194 (€2.23) plus VAT, which was practically unchanged on the R195 figure at the end of 2020.
Tricolor had 12,259,000 pay-TV subscribers in Q2, up from 12,257,000 in Q1, and was the market leader, with a share of 27%.
It was followed by Rostelecom (10,710,000, up from 10,708,000 – 24%), MTS (4,454,000, up from 4,331,000 – 10%), ER Telecom (3,810,000, up from 3,800,000 – 8%) and Orion (3,038,166, up from 3,022,600 – 7%), with other providers claiming a combined share of 24%.
