Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service, has recorded 42 million subscribers in its first year of operation.
Monthly users are watching more than a fifth more shows than the traditional audience on NBC itself.
Following domestic success with Xfinity with X1 and Flex, NBC Universal is now looking at the possibility of an international rollout.
“We’re looking to take advantage of the brand and scale of Sky across our European markets and potentially
strike partnerships with local programmers and distributors in geographies where it makes sense,” said
Brian L. Roberts, Chairman & CEO, of NBC and Sky parent Comcast Corporation.
More details are anticipated to be released later in the year.
Peacock offers a series of tiers with its relationship with WWE and the NFL helping to drive premium subscription.
