Ukraine will shortly see the simultaneous launch of two new thematic channels named Mason TV and Zakon TV.
Quoting the Telegram channel TV Post, Mediasat> reports that they will be operated by Vladimir Petrov, who was a candidate in the country’s presidential election in 2019.
It adds that Petrov already operates an information and education-based channel named Iceland, which made its debut last year.
Although Iceland has a satellite licence, Mason TV and Zakon TV are likely to be OTT services.
The regulator National Council is expected to award licences to the channels, which will be non-political, as soon as this week and interest in carrying them has already been expressed by two Ukrainian media groups.
