Telemach takes broadband lead in Slovenia

February 16, 2021 17.47 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Telemach claimed a 30.8% share of the fixed broadband market in Slovenia as of the end of last year, according to figures published by the regulator AKOS.

As a result, it took top spot in the provision of fixed broadband services in the country. Furthermore, it became one of only a few providers in Europe that has overtaken the state operator in terms of fixed broadband market share. Telemach is also the leading provider of paid video content in Slovenia, as well as the country’s fastest growing mobile operator.

Telemach has offered EON bundles in then fixed broadband sector since 2018 and is constantly upgrading its offering. In September 2020, the internet access speeds in these bundles were increased to 150 Mbps in the entry-level bundle and 600/60 Mbps in the most advanced bundle.

According to Adrian Jezina, president of the management board of Telemach, “Our considerable investments, network stability and an outstanding offering tailored to every user are certainly the main reasons why most users choose Telemach as their internet service provider. We are extremely proud of this achievement, as it reflects our efforts to offer users the best user experience and reliable high-tech services. Our efforts have also been rewarded by the Best in Test certificate for the best network in terms of the user experience, which we received for the second time in a row last year. We are proud to be the leading provider of internet services and paid video content”.

The company also has the largest next-generation network – GIGA network that covers more than 350,000 households and provides almost entirely access at speeds of up to 1 Gbps. It will continue to upgrade its network and focus on DOCSIS 3.1 and XGSPON technologies to deliver speeds of up to 10 Gbps.
In the paid video sector, Telemach offers more than 100 channels in HD and, its proprietary content and Video klub VOD service, which delivers more than 18,000 titles to EON subscribers at no extra charge.

Jezina added: “Our goal is to make our customers happy. We are constantly upgrading our services and network and setting new trends. Users recognize this, which is also reflected in our constant growth. These milestones prove that we are successfully following our vision and mission, and motivate us to move forward”.
