French streaming platform Salto achieved 20% of new subscriptions to streaming platforms in the French market.
In an interview with press agency AFP on Tuesday, managing director Thomas Follin said the uplift coincided with the arrival of the France Télévisions-TF1-M6 platform on connected TV and the terrestrial TNT platform.
The figures are in contrast to numbers published by the French daily Les Echos which put the three-month old platform on 200,000 subscribers at the end of December including 60,000 paid subscriptions.
Follin also gave details of the profile of his subscribers; 50% are under 35; 75% live outside Ile-de-France and 45% in municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants.
Salto is currently available on connected devices from Sony, TCL, Philips and Samsung along with Android TV and Apple TV devices, and on Bouygues Telecom boxes.
