Central European Media Enterprises (CME) expects to see significant uptake in its non-linear services.
Speaking to Seznam Zpravy, Didier Stoessel, the company’s CEO, said that it currently has hundreds of thousands of subscribers to such services in the entire CME group.
Looking specifically at the Czech Republic and Slovakia, he added that it has doubled the number of Voyo subscribers in the last 12 months or even less.
Stoessel was formerly the head of Nova TV in Bulgaria when it was owned by Sweden’s Modern Times Group (MTG).
In discussing targets for Voyo, he said that given there are 3 million subscribers to non-linear services in the four Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland) with a combined population of 20-25 million, he can see a realistic goal for Voyo in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which have a combined population of 15 million, being a million subscribers within five years.
