The Russian telco MTS saw a 17% increase in its DTH subscriber total in 2020, ending the year with one million.
In a summary of its operations, the company says that in the case of its satellite TV service children’s content was the most popular in 2020, accounting for 40.8% of viewing.
Meanwhile, entertainment content, movies and series claimed 21.3% and 20.1% respectively.
MTS also notes that its OTT service MTS TV showed the strongest growth in subscriber numbers (over 60%) among its operations in 2020, while the number of cable and IPTV customers increased by 8%.
All told, as of the end of 2020 over 11 million people received TV services through MTS.
